Sunday, November 8th, 2009The Inverness Film Festival returns to Eden Court Theatre from 11-15 November 2009.
Films from around the world will be screened plus a dozen Scottish Premieres. Unlike the Cannes Film Festival it will not be a jury but the audience who decides who merits the award from the 30 films to be screened. One film, the Swedish thriller “The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo”, is already rumoured to be the hot favourite with huge pre-sales. The festival opens with the Australian drama “The Boys Are Back” and other films to be screened include “A Serious Man”, “No Country For Old Men”, “44 Inch Chest” starring Ray Winstone, “The Informant” and Foreign Language Oscar Winner “Departures”.

Living Food at Cawdor Castle – celebrating the rich diversity of Highland food produce
Sunday, September 20th, 2009Cawdor Castle is the picturesque setting for this year’s Living Food event, taking place on Saturday 26 September, between 10 am and 5 pm. There will be around 50 stalls selling a fine range of locally produced food and drink. Among producers attending are the Ullapool Bakery, Dry Island, Wester Ross Fisheries and Sleepy Hollow (fish), Walk Farm and Geddes Free Range (meat), McLeod Organics (vegetables), Connage and Wester Lawrenceton (cheese). The Black Isle Brewery will be supplying organic beer and Highland Wholefoods will be supplying organic wine to accompany the barbecue hosted by Cawdor Castle.
Michelin starred chef, Charlie Lockley of Boath House, will be doing a cooking demonstration, and Alexander Campbell Chapman of the Findhorn Foundation will be providing music.
