Belladrum Festival – Beauly 2009

On the 7th & 8th August one of the Highlights of the Scottish festival calendar, Belladrum 2009 takes place at Beauly. This family friendly event will  include more than 90 acts on 5 different stages and will  feature local and internationally renowned artists. Reformed million sellers Toploader have been confirmed and other artists include indie newcomers Little Comets and Official Secrets Act as well as ska band Kid British who recently supported reformed The Specials. There will also be Glaswegian noisy popsters Dananananakroyd.

This year’s cabaret presentation in the Venus Flytrap features The Swinging Salami Showcase Spectacular featuring artsists Le Gateau Chocolat, Boogaloo Stu, Fake Bush, Captain Kidd, Miss Dolly Rocket, Team Mud and The Sparklemotion Showponies.

Tickets should be available on the gates @ £90 adult weekend and £60 adult saturday. You can stay nearby at an Inverness B&B which is a short way from Beauly.

2009 Ceilidh Trail – traditional music in Inverness

The Caledonian Canal Ceilidh Trail is an annual event in the Inverness area, running for 4 weeks from mid July, and showcasing local musicians performing traditional song, dance and music in various locations round the area. Most events are free, and some include Loch Ness boat trips with Jacobite Cruises – check the programme for more details. On Mondays from 4 until 5pm informal music sessions are taking place at Urquhart Castle, on the shores of Loch Ness.

The Ceilidh Trail culminates with the Tartan Heart Festival at Belladrum, Beauly, on 7 and 8 August.
