This week the Inverness area hosts two long standing and popular country fairs.
The Black Isle Show takes place on Wednesday 5 and Thursday 6 August, at Mannsfield Showground in Muir of Ord. Events include:
Livestock Parade, Cattle, Sheep, Horses & Ponies.
Over 300 Trade Stands, Food Fair, Craft Fair, Fairground,
“On the Farm” Exhibition, Sheep Shearing, Mega Mini’s Stunt Display Team, British Legion Junior Pipe Band, Full Catering, Bar Marquee & Food Stands.
This agricultural show offers an authentic taste of rural Highland life.
The Moy Fair is the annual Highland Field Sports Fair, held on the Moy Estate, about 10 miles south of Inverness. The fair takes place on 6 and 7 August, and offers a diversity of entertainments and activities for all of the family, from crèche facilities to archery. The emphasis is on field sports activities with competitions in fly casting, gun dog handling and clay pigeon shooting. Activities in the ring differ from year to year but you may see hawks, owls, horses, pipe bands and much more.
